“Laughing Last”

I'm unfortunately submitting this right before I have to leave the house and I'm already running behind, but I FINALLY finished today's song and didn't want to run the risk of not turning it in before the end of the day.
This one is heavily influenced by one of my greatest musical idols, Elliott Smith. I noticed one little similarity really early on in the writing process, like one little phrase turn, and then I got all excited and decided to totally lean into it just for funsies.
I wish I could have spent a little more time tracking this because it would have been fun to go further down this rabbit hole sonically, but I think I did enough to help draw the comparison with the double vocals/acoustic guitars plus shitty-sounding (in a good way) overdriven sing-songy guitar riffs. Might have been a little better to try to execute some of the parts more precisely, but honestly I kind of love how sloppy and imperfect so much of the ES stuff sounds, particularly his solo demos.
