Hello December!
Concert: 12/14/21
Greetings from "vacation"-land.
To be honest, I haven't really had much downtime. The first weekend I spent a little time doing nothing, but since then I've been trying to "catch up" on some things... because when I'm sitting in the house trying to relax, I just start to feel guilty and anxious about loops I haven't closed.
Additionally, I had a couple big IRL shows last week and a lot went into that... rehearsal, prepping merch, travel, etc. This current week was my first week without any work commitments but I am trying to tie up loose ends still... sending out thank-you notes from our wedding, getting my drivers license renewed, doctor's appointments. Life stuff that I often busy myself too much with work to get to.
So this coming week I have NO COMMITMENTS and that is very exciting. Knowing me I'll probably still give myself something to do, like "damnit it's about time I cleaned out the garage," but in my fantasy I'll be snuggled up with hot cocoa reading Jane Austen by the window.
The week after that, I have some work stuff that I had already committed to before I decided to go on the break, like a house concert and some other things. Since I'll be kinda "on" that week, and the following week will be the week of Christmas, we're going to do one final Vault Concert for 2021.
I'll play all the original holiday/winter tunes from my catalogue and then open up a short request queue since we're not going to have any other holiday livestreams this year 😔
I look forward to sharing a cup of cheer with you that night (hot toddy? Spiked egg nog? Mulled wine?). It'll be great to catch up with you all. Start gathering all your news now, 'cause I expect to hear about it all!

Here in December at The Vault, I wrote a sombre retrostpective song called “Change, Everlasting.”
After writing in my “I’m back” post about how burnt out I was, a bunch of you replied and told me to take some time off. I listened, so we did a few extra livestreams the week of November 15, and I’ve been away from the internet since then.
Other than the December 14 concert, there will be no livestreams or or other internet events until 2022. I will also be taking December off from the other Vault deliverables like the new song and this month’s cover song. Don’t worry, though, there’s a whole playlist of Holiday/Winter Songs available in your playlists tab!
