“Come Home to Me”

Prompt: come home to me
Submission of Member: Michael B

Today’s song is basically my amalgamated interpretation/iteration of all, but specifically, two, 1920s blues songs, including: Daddy, Won’t You Please Come Home? (1929) and Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out (1923)

These are pretty straightforward songs with not a lot of lyrics and pretty standard forms. The prompt, “come home to me” just seemed to demand a lending of it to this style. I “have”(/know) about all the traditional blues songs I really need for most performances as I only like to maybe play one or two, but it was still a fun exercise. Knowing that it was Michael’s prompt was certainly and influence, too, as I know he is a big blues fan.

Hope you enjoy!

More than halfway through! Wow. Feel free to submit a prompt I can include into a song this week by clicking here. 😊
